Check this shizz out!!! Our next adventure will be an appearance on DAVE TV. Dave Prewitt and his long running cable access show Dave TV are synonymous with Austin music. They even beat the pants off that super famous, internationally syndicated music showcase that comes from Austin, for a couple of years, in the Austin Chronicle's people's choice awards!!! Check out DaveTV.org to find out why. And especially tune in this Saturday either through the interwebs or an old fashioned television to catch our performance. To be featured on Dave TV is certainly an honor and we couldn't be prouder.
These fine folks have demonstrated impeccable taste in music by choosing to feature yours truly, GNARLY SACS, on their radio show this Wednesday. OUR SONGS ARE GOING TO OUTER SPACE!!! This will be your one and only opportunity to preview select tracks from the forth-coming full-length 'SACS TO THE MAX' before the official release on Saturday. Tune in dudes!!!
Sweet news! We are heading into Wonderland Studios on Oct. 13th with engineer/producer Tim "Tank" Casterline to begin recording our first full length album. Hope to have it Complete by the end of the month.
Kurt Koegler and Gnarly Sacs have parted ways. For anyone that might miss Kurt's killer vocals you can still hear him singing for Austin, TX's 'The Butts'. What you may not know is Kurt was not only the drummer but was also responsible for a lot of Gnarly Sacs' lyrics. He is irreplaceable. But the show must go on. Gnarly Sacs will not be the same from this point on. But it is my mission to make this band exceptional even in Kurt's absence. Neither of us can pinpoint exactly what happened but somewhere along the line Gnarly Sacs got unfun for both of us. And since friendship is even more important than music we just both sort of agreed its best to just call it. I wish him nothing but the best with his other musical endeavors.
A friend of the band, Matt Woolly, has stepped in to cover the shows on Sep. 30th and Oct. 1st. Matt is a certified badass and those shows will be top notch. I will continue to work hard on the album in the meantime and will be on the lookout for the next full time, gnarly drummer.
A peak inside rehearsal.
Here it is. This is where most of the magic happens. Kurt tries not to destroy what is basically a toy electronic drum set. And then of course there is Richie's battery powered amplifier (not pictured). We wish we could rehearse at stage volume but we don't want to risk Kurt's house spontaneously combusting.
